AI governance and oversight

Transparent rules, a system register and clear accountability give the organisation the confidence to act. With them in place, new AI solutions are delivered quickly, securely and at a predictable pace.

Governance as a condition for scale

An organisation that knows where its data goes, who is responsible for each solution and how a change of supplier is handled develops artificial intelligence with the full confidence of its security, legal and audit functions. Each new implementation then runs more smoothly than the one before.

Governance turns individual pilots into structured growth, in which the organisation adds new solutions at a predictable pace.

Governance is not a brake. It is a condition for speed.

Foundations of governance

  • Rules of use. Which tools and data to use, to what extent and in which situations. Written so that people apply them in their everyday work.
  • AI system register. A complete picture of the solutions running in the organisation, including the tools employees use every day.
  • Risk classification. A level of control matched to the application: low-risk applications follow simplified rules, while sensitive ones are subject to full oversight.
  • Ownership. Every solution has a designated person on the organisation’s side who is accountable for its development throughout its life cycle.
  • Data architecture and location. It is clear where data comes from, where it is processed and stored, in which region and who has access to it.
  • Human oversight. The decision rests with a human wherever it concerns people, money or regulatory compliance. The regulation requires this, and it reflects our own conviction.

AI solutions as digital products

A project has an end date. A product has a life cycle. A solution built on an AI model evolves continuously: the model changes, and so do the data and the way people work around it.

That is why every solution we implement receives what every digital product has in a mature IT organisation:

  • an owner on the organisation’s side,
  • a change backlog,
  • versioning,
  • usage metrics,
  • a planned retirement date.

This is the proven approach of mature IT service management, which we bring to the world of artificial intelligence. The CIO recognises their own language in it, and the board sees managed risk.

AI solutions in the service catalogue

Every solution enters the organisation’s service catalogue with a definition, a support level, an incident reporting path and an escalation procedure. In the event of an outage, it is clear who restores service, within what time and who makes the decision.

Changes follow an equally structured path. A new model, a revised system prompt or a new data source goes through the change management process, with testing and the option to roll back. As a result, process outcomes remain predictable after every change.

Experience in IT service management

For many years we have managed the IT infrastructure of large organisations, ensuring that the systems on which the work of thousands of people depends run predictably. We are official, certified ITIL trainers, holding the ITIL Expert and ITIL Managing Professional certifications.

We apply the same standard to AI solutions. We work with the latest tools, build at the highest technical level and design every solution with a clear view of who will maintain it and how. We deliver implementations in close collaboration with the IT department.
